Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen – review!

I finally got to watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with a few of my friends recently, we were having much trouble trying to get good seats during the first 2 weeks prior to release. This movie clocks in about two and a half hours in total, much longer than the first Transformers movie.
Director Michael Bay ups the ante on his 2007 hit Transformers by throwing even more huge amounts of metal-banging,swirling, twirling, machine-crunching robot action onto the screen. Industrial Light & Magic’s photorealistic CGI is really awesome where the bots just interacts seamlessly with star Shia La Beouf and other cast members against a backdrop of huge explosions and military firepower.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen displays an array of impressive digital effects, but bigger, faster, louder and longer does not necessarily equals to better. Bay’s famous fondness for blowing up stuff threatens to overwhelm the senses in Round 2 of the ongoing grudge match that pits evil, alien Decepticon robots against a coalition of civilians, soldiers and carebear-humanity-loving Autobots.
Still, there’s plenty to admire in this fast, furious and frequently goofy sequel. The storyline of this movie does not really depict much similarities from the cartoon series, even most of the robots do not really transform into how they were supposed to look like in vehicle form. Even though this movie hit the highest opening gross earnings in history still it received much criticism too. You can read about those negative bashings from various top movie review sites.
Here is a short synopsis:
The battle for Earth has ended but the battle for the universe has just begun. After returning to Cybertron, Starscream assumes command of the Decepticons, and has decided to return to Earth with force. The Autobots believing that peace was possible finds out that Megatron’s dead body has been stolen from the US Military by Skorpinox and revives him using his own spark. Now Megatron is back seeking revenge and with Starscream and more Decepticon reinforcements on the way, the Autobots with reinforcements of their own, may have more to deal with then meets the eye.

I myself certainly did enjoy the movie pretty much, not so much on the storyline and the Transformers lore but the CGI and Megan Fox was all good =)
